Blerch is a pixel art editor and animator. Draw stuff, create frame by frame animations with layering, import images and GIFs and export in a multitude of formats

Current Features:

Drawing

- Brush, Eraser, Eyedropper, Fill, Select, Move

- Brush modes: shade, lighten, blend

- Shape Tool: Rectangle, Circle, Ellipse, Line

- Adjustable brush size

Animation

- Frame timeline with add, duplicate, delete and, copy and paste frames

Color and Palettes

- Auto-generated frequency based palette built for each frame (Ranked by most frequent colors used to least)

- Builtin Palette presets with: Pico-8, Sweetie 16, DawnBringer 16/32, Endesga 32, Resurrect 64, Gothic-bit

- Import and export custom .gpl palettes

Import / Export

- Import reference image as movable and scalable layer

- Convert photo into pixel art (with median cut color quantization)

  - You can choose your own width, height, number of colors used and aspect ratio

- Convert GIF to pixel art (also median cut)

  - You can choose your own width, height, number of colors used and aspect ratio

- Export as PNG, sprite sheets, GIF, Video

  - Choose your own scale for GIFs, videos and images if you want to scale up or down

  - Choose your own columns for sprite sheets

  - Video exports may be limited based on canvas size

- Save and load projects

Misc

- Undo and redo

- Persistent memory for recent files

- Autosave recovery files in case something goes wrong (which shouldn't but you never know)

- Keyboard Shortcuts

- Light and dark mode for canvas (Blerch uses OS theme)

Note: Since Blerch is a new, independently developed software, it is not code-signed. Thus, your OS may give a warning when first running the application. Just run anyway to get rid of the warning.
